bunny baskets, take two

were blogged about a few years back
Photobucket
but i pulled the pattern out again
as a quick fun project for my little seamstresses

as much as i like teaching them new skills
and they like the accomplishment of trying a big or intimidating project
Photobucket
these ladies love these quick projects with bits of hand embroidery
and lots of room for personalization

Photobucket
certainly a success in their own right!

winter sewing class update

my little seamstresses continue to blow me away
with what they produce (and often design themselves!) in our weekly classes

this winter, we started with a biggie:
twin-sized quilts for their very own beds

Photobucket
the girls designed the layouts
picked the fabrics
 Photobucket

cut, pieced and sewed the tops

Photobucket

hand appliqued details on the backs

Photobucket
sandwiched, quilted and bound

Photobucket
these beauties
 all on their own...

Photobucket
at 10 years old? yeah... impressive.
...
one-day pom scarves
Photobucket

quick valentine's lovies
Photobucket

saturday morning yoga pants
Photobucket
...
to welcome spring
we are working on a quick easter project
and then onto
sundresses!

my kid's sewing class
started up again this week
...
Photobucket

our first project of the year:
Photobucket
perfect for september
a quick, 1-day project
to get the little ladies
back in the groove
...
and boy, did they impress
Photobucket
craft-show worthy
(amazing. seriously. these girls are nine!)
...
it's great to be back
Photobucket
woot woot!
