
this is quite a belated post... but when the joy-rush of finishing a project comes over me, there is normally no time for photographs.
i made this play-quilt for my niece, anya, last holiday season.
i love that it isn't overly-girly, but still sweet.
i mixed the cotton wovens with a fine-wale corduroy and flannel for texture play.
i had the fabulous alexander henry zoo print in my stash for SO long, and was thrilled to put it to good use!

the animals provided a fun pattern for the quilting, so i picked a random assortment and stitched around them in contrasting thread.

miss blue eyes snuggling up to the finished project!

and now that we have used the coin quilt on our summer bed all season, perhaps i can finally take it out for a shoot this weekend!
